For cutting machine products, hydraulic oil is the foundation of its work. The quality of the hydraulic oil not only affects the normal operation of the hydraulic cylinder but also causes severe damage to the hydraulic pressure and system components, which directly determines the service life of the machine. From this point of view, how to identify the quality of hydraulic oil is very important. The following is the relevant knowledge for you. It may be not comprehensive but very practical. I believe it will be helpful to everyone!

We recommend using #46 hydraulic oil from large factories.

First, identify the moisture content of hydraulic oil:

  1. Visual inspection method: if the oil is milky and turbid during the use of the hydraulic cylinder, it means the oil contains a lot of water.
  2. Burning method: Use clean, dry cotton yarn or cotton paper to dip a little oil to be tested, and then ignite it with fire. If a crackling sound or flashing sound is found, it means the oil contains more water.

Second, identify hydraulic oil viscosity:

  1. Dip the hydraulic oil with your fingers and twist them with two fingers. There should be obvious resistance and slide freely.

2. Use a small wooden stick to insert into the oil, and the oil will flow down linearly when lifted.

Thirdly, identify the impurities in hydraulic oil:

  1. Sensory identification: there are obvious suspended metal particles in the oil used in the hydraulic cylinder, and the existence of fine particles is directly felt when twisted with fingers.

2, Heating identification: for low viscosity hydraulic oil can be directly placed in a clean, dry test tube to heat up. If sediment particles or suspended matter are found in the oil in the test tube, it means that the oil contains mechanical impurities.

Another intuitive method is to observe directly with the naked eye. The clearer hydraulic oil can directly see foreign objects at a depth of 50cm — 100cm.
